Proud PUMA !!!

Actually, I'm not.

Actually, I didn't even know what the acronym stood for until a few days ago.

Actually, I'll vote for a head of lettuce, if that's who we nominate.  In fact, in the past, on occasion, I have.  And, in the future, on occasion, I know I will again.  Not happily, but I'll always vote for and contribute to the Democrat.

However, I just wanted to do a little experiment.  Post a diary with an outrageously argumentative title, just to see all the hits and all the traffic.

Just to show how we reward what we say we oppose, while calm intelligent diaries on important subjects, or hot angry diaries attacking REPUBLICANS, are ignored.  It seems too many folks just want to flame each other.

So, may I make a suggestion?  For every hot headed diary you can't stop yourself (mea culpa, too) from writing or reading or commenting upon or rec'ing, can you write or read or comment upon or rec one of the calmer, intelligent diaries, or one of the partisanly pro Democratic diaries?  Because, honestly, are we here to fight each other or to learn from / work with each other?

You don't want milk to be united?  What if some bottles refuse to join the others and then goes bad and putrid because of their self-defeating actions?

Or, if you can't do it in the presidential race, at least do it in the Congressional/Senate races.

I would love to (none / 0)

"write or read or comment upon or rec one of the calmer, intelligent diaries", if you would tell me where to find them. They've been in pretty short supply around here.

"I'll vote for a head of lettuce, if that's who we nominate."

Well, only if we nominate "Blue Cheese Dressing" for VP.

The all salad ticket is the way to go!

Re: Proud PUMA !!! (2.00 / 9)

Well, we don't have a head of lettuce, but we do have Baraccoli Obama.

And if he hadn't gotten the nomination, it would've been Cilery Clinton.

And when yo realize that lettuce (none / 0)

was mostly water and it rots, then what?

by thebluenote on Wed Jul 02, 2008 at 02:21:45 PM EST

Cool (1.80 / 5)

Because there is nothing to be proud of in being a PUMA.  Just another way to distract Democrats and elect Republicans.

PS.  I'd go with Italian Dressing for VP.  I'm lactose intolerant.

Pride and PUMA are antithetical (2.00 / 3)

I'm sorry, and I know this sounds harsh, but believe PUMA is purely an expression of narcissism. And narcissism is nothing to be proud of.

It's all about them and past transgressions against them and their base and their identity politics.

Re: Pride and PUMA are antithetical (2.00 / 3)

But I believe the point of this diary is this:  Why waste energy on being pissed about Pumas, when you can work with energy for the Democratic candidate.

I'm certainly not pissed... (none / 0)

And I am working for the nominee.

I believe that the number of PUMAs is insignificant in a national election, and that no additional effort should be made to bring them over. There will be one shot of them, 300 or so strong in Denver, behind a construction fence with the LaRouche Youth.

The dixiecrats who won't vote for a balck man even if he was running against the Devil himself. To Obama supporters, I say ignore them. They won't vote for him no matter what he says and does.

The same is true for the PUMAs. There motivations might be different and they aren't racist, but they are as equally insignificant to us.

Why worry about the small part you can't change?

A truly worthy experiment and estimable project... (2.00 / 4)

I find myself all too often going towards the most outrageous title.  So thank you for pointing out a failing in myself.  I will try to reform, but I fear that human nature and my own enjoyment in arguing may not make it so.  Nonetheless, following your advice will probably help my blood pressure.

Since it was on the recommended... (2.00 / 1)

So basically, your diary is a "just say no" to diaries that make you mad? Heh :D
